Intersport Racing Riding Momentum Into Road America
08.18.2010
Coming off a stunning performance at last weeks American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge, Intersport Racing is confident they can run hard at Road America and finish what they started.
Intersport Racing is anxious to put the #37 AER powered Lola through its paces on the 4.048-mile, 14-turn track, North America's longest sports car course. Road America is extremely well suited to the twin-turbo power of the AER… and that's just what co-drivers Clint and Jon Field want.
Intersport has demonstrated their ability to go to the front at every 2010 race where they've taken the green flag. But nowhere were they as dominant as at Mid-Ohio where Clint Field took the lead on lap one and continued to lead for 81 laps.
"We had such a strong car at Mid-Ohio," noted Clint Field. "The guys on the team got everything right. We need to repeat that performance. With the AER power on Road America's long straights, we should have an advantage. We just need to stay focused."
Kyle Marcelli will return to Road America driving the #89 Oreca FLM09 LMPC car for Intersport.
Road America is the seventh stop on the 2010 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron championship season. This race has been highly anticipated by the teams due to the fact it backs right up to next week's eighth round at Mosport International in Ontario, Canada.
A no-mistake weekend is a must as the caravan of teams and transporters will leave directly from Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin and head straight to Mosport International in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada.
